When I started getting really into dubstep around 2010, one of the first songs I found was “Lines In Wax” by Flux Pavilion. Even before “I Can’t Stop” or his iconic “Gold Dust” remix with Doctor P, I fell in love with Foreign Beggars’ flow, gritty synths and bass, all that. Over the years, Flux has remained a mainstay in the dubstep community, although he moved on to other material with his latest album, .wav.
However, we have already seen him return to his You’re here-era with his previous single, “Technicolor Psychic Vision” from last year. Now we have further confirmation that Flux is definitely returning to dubstep, and it’s because the scene is so strong right now.
“I think we’re entering a new era of dubstep,” he said in a recent video. “There are so many great things people write. I don’t think there was a time in my career when I was more excited about dubstep than I am now. This is huge praise from someone who was there when he was literally still forming. He continues: “I can’t stop thinking about it, that’s kind of all I want to do. Just to warn you guys, that’s where I’m at. If you want to hear dubstep Flux, that’s exactly what happens.
“Paradise”, his latest single, features a blend of Flux Pavilion’s signature sound with a unique blend of melodic bass and driving beats. The track progresses with a catchy, euphoric vocal before transitioning into a heavy anthem. Fueled by the strength of letting yourself be present in the moment and savoring experiences, enjoying paradise is about taking the time to appreciate the beauty around you and disconnect from the digital world. Put down your phone and take in the sights, sounds and smells of a special place.
