Last December, Kx5 – Kaskade and deadmau5 – played an epic show at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the first electronic music show inside the venue since EDC was ousted from the city after 2010. (Les Martinez Brothers played in the parking lot in front of the previous month.)
This is currently the largest one-day concert presented by an electronic music artist ever held in North America. Despite the incredible number of people who were lucky enough to get tickets to the event, there are still hundreds of thousands of people who weren’t. Today, the full Colosseum set is uploaded to Apple Music, available in Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos.
“The West Coast has always been my stomping ground – my home – when it comes to playing. It was fundamental in building the sound I play all over the world. No place in Los Angeles better sums up the place where this wiring was created than the LA Memorial Coliseum. The structure, the location, the sky above, all iconic. When deadmau5 and I had the opportunity to be the first electronic music artists to play there low, as Kx5, in over a decade, we knew we had to fix and make this special. We put everything we had into it, and I think it shows. To be able to release this set is a love letter to our audience everywhere, but it’s signed by the people who were there on 10/12/22 —Kaskade
“I share Ryan’s sentiment. The Colosseum was truly an epic sight. Even the generator that caught fire and paused everything took a while. We spare you that, though, and make up for it with this flawless recording. We’ve got all the great tracks and edits from the night, all in one nice package. —deadmau5
