“This song is a goodbye letter to my friends. After 6 months at ICON Collective, everyone in my class was sent home due to the pandemic. Around September 2020 there were tons of fires forest around Los Angeles and the whole world felt apocalyptic. I wrote this song for my songwriting finale but I slipped a message to my friends during the bridge to say goodbye. A Originally it was a ballad, but a year later I adapted the lyrics with a more catchy and electronic production. I wanted to celebrate the moments of uncertainty and despair, and their overcoming. – matte barry
