If you were listening to the radio in 2008 (like most of us; Spotify wasn’t founded until 2006 and didn’t gain popularity for a few years), you couldn’t avoid hearing “Sex On Fire” from Kings of Leon. It was absolutely everywhere. Now, 15 years later, the song has been given a modern dance twist by NINETYfka Nitti Gritti.
As Audien likes to say, progressive house never dies, and NITTI turns the rock classic into an emotional progressive house ballad. Personally, I wish a bit more of the original guitar riffs had remained, extending some of the bars before the vocals came in, but since the track is already 4 minutes long, there’s still plenty to sink your teeth into. .
