dance music titans R3HAB, Timmy Trumpet And W&W are back with their second collaborative single “Poison”, and he is a certified main stage banger. Combining a bit of each artist’s distinctive styles, “Poison” is sure to delight festival crowds around the world.
The opening of the track appears to be the work of Timmy Trumpet with lightly constructed synths layered over a high pitched vocal. There’s a little melodic interlude on the piano before getting to the beefy drop. The drip synths are clearly W&W layered over some of R3HAB’s psy-trance beats. We get a revamp of the verse in round two, this time there’s a rhythmic synth march before another massive drop. This song was repeated for my workouts! Here’s what the three superstars had to say about reuniting for “Poison” again.
“Timmy, W&W and I have a connection that is rare. After our various collaborations over the years, we are still able to easily find and share ideas with each other. They have become friends rather than colleagues, and I admire them both for their musical talents and for their strong personalities. What we’ve created now blends all of our signature styles into a true main stage record that will resonate with all listeners who loved our previous releases. —R3HAB
“Working with my brothers from another mother is always an incredible experience in the studio! This is our second collaboration as a trio, and it won’t be the last. So happy with how it turned out. – Timmy Trumpet
“After ‘Distant Memory’, it was time for us to write another song with the guys. We really enjoy working with R3HAB and Timmy because we all complement each other! We have great chemistry together and we push each other to create the best production possible. –W&W
