Tickets for Skrillex at Red Rocks, a 5 hour set went on sale this morning and sold out within minutes – no surprise.
Red Rocks has a capacity of nearly 10,000 and previously hosted Skrillex in 2014 on their Mothership tour in support of their Break album. Even then, it was not difficult to sell the room, but it is unlikely that it happened so quickly.
Already, tickets are available for resale on platforms like StubHub and Vivid Seats, ranging from $250 to $8,000. For reference, I looked at the cheapest flight from Los Angeles to Denver, arriving the day of the show and departing the next day, and it was only $134. Yes it was Spirit, but the flight was cheaper than the cost of the ticket if I had to buy resale.
Probably the most incredible part of it all is that Skrillex hasn’t posted anything on any of its social media feeds about the show. Look at his Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, there’s no mention of Red Rocks last week. (He may have made a post on his IG story about it, we haven’t seen if he did.)
It’s just that guy.
